1924
The Radio Manufacturers Association, one of JEDEC's parent entities, is established.
1944
JETEC (Joint Electron Tube Engineering Council) is created by the Radio Manufacturers Association and the National Electronic Manufacturers Association to formalize electron tube standardization, including those used in memory.
1947
Bell Labs invents the transistor.
1954
Texas Instruments introduces the transistor radio.
Bell Labs introduces an all-transistor computer.
1955
William Shockley and two others win the Nobel Prize for inventing the transistor.
1957
Fairchild Semiconductor founded.
Semiconductor industry hits $100 million in sales
1958
Integrated circuit invented.
JEDEC is created to formalize Solid State Device standardization (including transistor circuits used in memory circuits).
